Guido Sarno

Guido Sarno was born in Naples, Italy where he graduated from the Mara Fusco High School. He then received a scholarship to the Ecole-Atelier Rudra-Bejart in Lausanne. Performing in several productions of the Bejart Ballet Lausanne (The Rite of Spring, Bolero, 7 Greek Dances and Ciao Federico) In 2004, he joined Teatro Scala in Milano performing many classical ballets such asThe Nutcracker by R.Nureyev, including Heinz Spoerli's new creation. In 2005 he became a member of the European Ballet in London, followed by an engagement at the Opera National de Bordeaux performing classical repertoire by Charles Jude (Don Quixote, Giselle, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker), including modern ballets by William Forsythe's In the Middle Somewhat Elevated, Click-Pose-Silence by J.Kylian,
The Prodigal Son from G.Balanchine, Rite of Spring from L.Massine, and Petrushka from M.Fokine etc. In 2011 he became a member of the Opera de Nice, where he became a demi-soloist and then soloist of the company. He performed as a Soloist in many principal roles (Allegro Brillante, La Chaconne from G.Balanchine, Raymonda suite from Eric Vu-An, Por Vos Muero and Gnawa from N.Duato, Suite en Blanc from S.Lifar etc…) In 2013, he was scouted to join the National Theater in Prague as a soloist dancing choreographic works by Ohad Naharin, Jacopo Godani, M.Corder, A.Ekman, K.Greve, U.Scholz, G.Tetley amongst others. After five seasons, he left the National Theater in December 2018 and became Principal Dancer with the Moravian Theater of Olomouc till 2021, also working as Ballet Master and Assistant of the Director of the company.

Since January 2022 he is currently freelancing as a ballet master and guest teacher around Europe with many companies. He delved into the world of choreography only recently in 2020 when he created The Jewels, Black Diamond and most recently the premiere of he is first full-length ballet of The Nutcracker with the Moravian Theatre of Olomouc.
