From its founding in 1991 to the present day, this documentary examines how the Malta Jazz Festival has navigated periods of change, uncertainty, and renewal.

Highlighting a vibrant period in Malta’s jazz history this project celebrates Maltese jazz composers from the late 1960s through the early 1980s, including the era of Charles “City” Gatt.

French pianist Vincent Bourgeyx leads a trio deeply rooted in jazz tradition while embracing modern expression. A Berklee College of Music alumnus shaped by the New York jazz scene, Bourgeyx brings a refined yet exploratory voice.

Drummer-composer Guilhem Flouzat presents Bottommost, blending songwriting, jazz, and experimental textures. Known for collaborations with Sullivan Fortner and shaped by mentors like Eric Harland, his work balances rhythmic depth with lyrical storytelling.
