MIAF is launching a series of videos to foster the collaboration between local artists. EVOL is a new chreography featuring dancer Dorian Mallia from Moveo Dance Company. The work is choreographed by Dorian Mallia and co-written by Erica Muscat. The choreography is set to a selection of five piano preludes by Claude Debussy: La Sérénade Interrompue; La Puerta del Vino; Voiles, Minstrels and General Lavine - performed by Francis Camilleri. Moveo Dance Company is supported by the Arts Council Malta. This project is produced by MIAF in collaboration with the MALTA SOCIETY OF ARTS.

Dorian Mallia Biography
Founder/ Artistic Director of Moveo Dance Company graduated from Central School of Ballet (London) and pursued a Master degree in Performing Studies (Dance) at the University of Malta. He has performed at top international venues with companies including European Ballet in the UK, RBR Dance Company in Verona (Italy), LaMov Compania de Danza (Spain), Paganini Dance Company in Rome and Mavinkhoodance (Singapore) to mention a few. In 2008 he set up Move Dance Company, whose repertoire has been performed locally as well as internationally including Germany, Czech Republic, UK, Italy, Spain and U.S. Moveo won Artist of The Year in 2018 and in 2020 Best Artistic Enterprise by the Arts Council Malta.
Francis Camilleri Biography
Francis James Camilleri is one of the emerging pianists from Malta, praised for his ‘maturity and distinctive touch’. He formally commenced his pianoforte studies with Lucia Micallef and continued under the tuition of Karen Briscoe, while also taking regular lessons with Prof Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music, London. He graduated from the University of Malta in piano performance under the tuition of Michael Laus and participated in master classes led by John Lill, Mikhail Pethukov, Alexei Grynyuk, Young-Choon Park, amongst others. He also had coaching in harmony and counterpoint from Joseph Vella, one of Malta’s leading composer.
