You will need two devices for this activity. Either 2 mobiles, or a mobile and a laptop.

  • If you are using two mobiles, connect your headphones to the first mobile and listen to the music provided while filming yourself singing the Ghanja with your other mobile

  • Ideally a mobile and laptop is used for the best quality. In this case, connect your headphones to the mobile and listen to the music provided. Film yourself singing the ghanja on the laptop.

Etienne Pawney

Etienne Pawney started to sing għana at the age of 11 and has been practicing this pastime for the last 20 years. From a very young age, Etienne used to accompany his father, Jimmy Pawney, during his għana sessions, sparking a passion for għana that keeps growing stronger by the years

Denise Cachia Vella

Also known as Denise Vella ta’ Kalc, Denise is known to accompany prime guitarists (prejjem) amongst għana communities. Daughter of prime guitarist Calcidon Vella ‘ta’ Mustaċċa’, Denise showed her interest for the instrument at the age of just 5 years old.
