Biography
Albert Buttigieg began his musical education at the Johann Strauss School of Music in Malta. He is currently mentored by Ms Juliette Bisazza Zanni. He holds a Licentiate from the Trinity College of Music in Voice performance.
Albert has performed extensively in Malta in all major venues. He has also performed abroad in Poland, UK, Italy and France. His performance experience ranges from baroque to contemporary to opera.
Notwithstanding his varied experiences, sacred music strikes the chord closest to Albert’s heart with some of the most memorable performances being Bach’s St Matthew Passion, the Requiem masses of Biber, Haydn, Mozart, Verdi, Faure and Durufle.
Albert is one of the voice leaders for KorMalta, Malta’s national choir. He is also an active member of the Valletta Baroque Ensemble (ViBE), with a series of acclaimed performances to date including the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610, Telemann’s Bass Cantatas, and Handel’s Messiah and Belshazaar.
