Maltese Soprano, Cledia Micallef, is a young artist. She is a Bachelor of Music (Honours) graduate from the University of Malta, where she conducted research on song cycles by Maltese composers, further enriching her understanding of local repertoire. Cledia is currently refining her artistry at the prestigious Opera Nova Project and receiving vocal tutelage and mentorship from Ms Gillian Zammit.


Cledia performs regularly in local concert recitals, showcasing a rich and varied repertoire spanning operatic arias and art songs from the Baroque era to contemporary compositions, encompassing works by Bach, Gluck, Handel, Mozart, von Weber, German Lieder, French mélodie, and Maltese art songs. Her experience also extends to sacred and secular choral music, performing both as soloist and chorister with the Abos Project and Consort. She recently debuted as the Governess in Opera Nova’s opera scenes from Britten’s The Turn of the Screw.


She actively participates in masterclasses with local and international tutors. In 2023, Cledia won first place in her category at the Gozo Classical Voice Festival and Competition. In 2024, she appeared with The Gaulitanus Choir for Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at Teatro Antico di Taormina and attended the Oxenfoord International Summer School where she studied with international tutors and professors from across the UK.
