Biography

Fabio Carpene is an Italian set designer and interior designer, graduated in set design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and specialized in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano. During his studies, he worked as an assistant set designer with Poppi Ranchetti, gaining valuable experience in France and Slovenia. Simultaneously, he collaborated as visual and concept artist for events with Simmetrico Network and Balich Wonder Studio in Milan.


In 2014, he debuted as a set designer, signing the scenes for L’inganno felice and La scala di seta at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, under the direction of Bepi Morassi. This success was followed in 2021 by the creation of sets for Il barbiere di Siviglia for Cortinateatro and the design of scenes for the world premiere of Opera Italiana, composed by Nicola Campogrande and directed by Tommaso Franchin at the Festival della Valle D’Itria.


Fabio has also collaborated with renowned architecture firms in London and Milan, designing interiors for private residences and luxury boutiques. Since 2022, he has been responsible for designing spaces and sets for Chopard events at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2023, he designed the sets for La Bohème, directed by Bepi Morassi and performed in theaters of Padua, Treviso, and Rovigo. In the same year, he designed the sets for Robin Hood, directed by Marta Cortellazzo Wiel, and L’istruttoria, directed by Leonardo Lidi, both for the Teatro Stabile di Torino.

Fabio Carpene is recognized for his ability to combine the complexity of theatrical machinery with the magic of ephemeral spaces, designing poetic atmospheres that go beyond mere stylistic design.
