Giacomo Biagi

Assistant Conductor

Giacomo Biagi is a conductor, composer, and cellist. He made his operatic debut in the 2022 season of the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, conducting Il Conte di Kevenhüller by Riccardo Dapelo. In the same year, he began a close collaboration with Giulio Prandi as assistant conductor, contributing to the production of operas and concerts for prestigious institutions such as the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Valletta Early Opera Festival, and the Fondazione Pergolesi-Spontini in Jesi.


In 2023, he conducted symphonic concerts with the Obalni Komorni Orkester of Koper and the Jean Sibelius Orchestra of Rapallo. Since 2024, he has served as Artistic Coordinator of GhislieriMusica, and in 2025 he made his debut at the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia with the Orchestra Giovanile Pavese, for which he also oversees musical preparation.


His education spans a wide range of disciplines: he completed academic studies in Cello, Composition, Baroque Performance Practice, Electronic Music, and Philosophy. He studied Conducting with Renato Rivolta at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan and deepened his knowledge of the operatic repertoire with Francesco Lanzillotta and Daniele Agiman.


Active also as a composer and arranger, in 2018 his orchestral work Aleph was selected by the Conservatories of the Via Emilia and performed at the Teatro Pavarotti-Freni in Modena. In 2020, he won the “SIAE – Per chi crea” call for proposals with his composition no_more_lando for instruments and electronics.
