Biographies
SIGNUM saxophone quartet
The SIGNUM saxophone quartet is everything - except ordinary: four outstanding saxophonists who have known each other since their youth and have been reinventing themselves ever since. Musical genre crossover, in which a deep devotion to the classic string quartet sound goes hand in hand with great enthusiasm for the rock classics of our time. Whether original compositions for saxophone quartet, arrangements of orchestral works, baroque compositions, or rock music - SIGNUM's unwavering love of music extends to almost all eras and genres.
Award winners at several international competitions, the young SIGNUM saxophone quartet debuted at New York's Carnegie Hall in 2013. Quickly, the quartet expanded on its success: As “Rising Stars” of the European Concert Hall Organization (ECHO) in 2014/15, the SIGNUMs have stepped onto the big stages of the world, where they have been at home for years now.
The SIGNUM saxophone quartet is regularly on everyone's lips through its concerts in quartet formation and collaborations with fellow musicians, including star violinist Daniel Hope and Fazil Say. In the following season, the SIGNUMs are looking forward to various orchestral concerts and recitals, an extensive Australia tour with the singer Ali McGregor and their return to Korea.
The quartet has already released several albums, including “Echoes” (Deutsche Grammophon, 2021) and their latest album “Chameleon” (Berlin Classics, 2024).
SIGNUM is a Selmer Paris Artist and has been an “Ensemble in Residence” of Bayer Kultur since 2024.
The SIGNUM saxophone quartet thanks beltepà for the exceptional concert clothing.
