Biography
Gruppo Sbandieratori e Tamburini di Montepulciano is a cultural association officially active since 2007, founded by a group of young people united by their passion for the historical discipline of the flag and the drum, with the aim of promoting it.
The association operates mainly in the context of the historical re-enactment of the Bravìo delle Botti di Montepulciano with shows related to the event and is also committed to presenting its shows at external events, performing at historical re-enactments both in Italy and abroad: among the most prestigious are Rome, Germany and Portugal.
The Group's coat of arms is the Griffin, symbol of Montepulciano, that can be seen on the velvet clothes and on the flags. These have a weight of 1.2 kg with a wooden shaft and lead counterweight, while the drums are made of wooden barrels, hemp rope and synthetic leather.
Our performances are characterized by spectacular throws and elegant choreographies, made harmonious by the rhythmic accompaniment of the drums.
