Contemporary Dance (Kinetic approaches) by Silvija Musić and Endi Schroetter (Croatia)

Contemporary Dance (Kinetic approaches) by Silvija Musić and Endi Schroetter (Croatia)

DFM Workshops 28 July

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

We approach the body as a connected system where with certain exercises we explore how moving one part of the body has (in)direct impact to the movement of other parts. Translating the weight from one place to another helps us become more sensitive about timing of shifting the weight. We continue with practicing this alertness through improvisation which makes us more precise in moving, creating better use of weight as a force in kinetic chain of movement. We try to implement tasks revolving around activating muscles in longer period which then exceeds from shorter to sudden. In this moment, we work on building up muscle tension and releasing it to feel our weight and the gravity pull better. Finally, we focus to our facial muscles and research it in a relationship with the rest of the body. Finishing with a set material, we are driven towards polyrhythmically movement.
