The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child - Children’s rights in Malta

General Activity Description:
The session will address Children’s Rights as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child with a specific focus on children’s rights in Malta, the session will also address the role of teachers and staff in promoting and protecting children’s rights.
The event is free of charge and organised by: the Royal Academy of Dance representative office in Malta and the Commission for Children. It is specifically geared towards dance schools and dance teachers and it carries 2-hours time valued CPD approved by the Royal Academy of Dance (UK). Participants will receive a certificate issued by the Royal Academy of Dance after the event
Aims:
The aims of this course/workshop are to:
Create an understanding of Children’s Rights and the UN Convention
Create awareness about children’s rights in Malta and the role of the Commissioner for Children
Improve the participants’ knowledge and understanding on promoting and protecting children’s Rights
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the course/workshop you will:
have an increased understanding of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
be more aware of the situation in Malta
have a greater understanding of how to promote and protect children’s rights
have enhanced understanding of the role of the Commissioner for Children
