Underground Valletta: Pan Flute - Adriana Babin - Performance 1

Malta International Arts Festival 25

Photo by Cristina Lozan The Malta International Arts Festival (MIAF) invites the audience to descend into the fascinating depths of Valletta. This intimate recital by pan flute virtuoso Adriana Babin from Moldova will take place inside a 16th century underground water cistern. The programme includes pieces that are originally composed for the instrument, such as the haunting Cockeye's Song by Ennio Morricone from the movie Once Upon a Time in America, as well as arrangements of classical works, such as Claude Debussy’s Syrinx, originally written for solo flute and a selection from Béla Bartók’s Six Romanian Folk Dances. A truly unique concert, enhanced by the evocative setting of the underground site.
