The Malta Crafts Foundation, in collaboration with the Golden Glitch and with the support of the Arts Council, the Valletta Cultural Agency, and Spazju Kreattiv, presents the 2nd edition of designMT – Malta’s premier design expo, a showcase of creativity where tradition meets innovation.


The event will feature a diverse collection of contemporary design pieces that highlight the perfect blend of functionality and style. Each item has been carefully selected for its relevance to both modern living and cultural significance, showcasing how design continues to shape our everyday experiences.



Artisan Market

Time: 4pm onwards | Location: Castille Square


The Malta Crafts Foundation artisan market at Notte Bianca showcases a vibrant blend of traditional and innovative crafts. Local artisans present unique handmade jewellery, textiles, ceramics, and more, celebrating Malta’s rich artistic heritage while embracing contemporary creativity. A perfect cultural experience for visitors seeking unique gifts, home décor, and more.



Look at Me: Framing the Iconic by Lorenzo Agius

Time: 10am - 12am | Location: Space C, Spazju Kreattiv


This exhibition marks photographer Agius’s Malta debut, celebrating his roots through iconic portraits and cinematic moments. Spanning four immersive rooms, it features large-format prints, a projection room, and highlights from his Trainspotting series. Agius’s career blends resilience, curiosity, and artistic integrity, capturing the spirit of a generation and global icons alike.



How to Feed on Majesty to Become Eloquent

Time: 10am - 12am | Location: Space A, Spazju Kreattiv


This collective exhibition features African artists whose work explores land, water, light, and time as portals to knowledge and ancestral memory. Engaging indigenous aesthetics and subaltern landscapes, the artists forge mystical, horizontal alliances; revealing Southern epistemologies through moments of rupture, intimacy, and beauty that challenge dominant narratives and celebrate the ineffable.



Jazz Assemblea Festival

Time: 10am - 12am | Locations: Atrium, Upper Atrium & Atrium Approach, Spazju Kreattiv


Jazz Assemblea Festival returns for its second edition, celebrating Malta’s rich jazz legacy. Featuring over 60 local artists, this vibrant programme includes discussions, workshops, concerts, visual experiences, an album launch, and a jam session—uniting past, present, and future in one unforgettable celebration of Maltese jazz.




Music at the Oratories

Time: Visiting Hrs: 7pm - 12am; Concerts: 7:30pm, 8pm, 8:30pm, 9pm, 9:30pm, & 10pm | Location: The Oratories, Former Jesuits' Church, Merchant Street (Entrance from the side door on Archbishop Street)


Come and visit the spectacular Oratories of the Onorati and the Immacolata, at the former Jesuits' Church in Valletta. These Baroque gems have been recently restored to their former glory. You can not only admire the beautiful art and architecture, but also enjoy a recital by two of the finest lyrical singers in Malta with regular performances throughout the evening. The Oratories offer an oasis of peace and beauty amid the hustle and bustle of modern life.



St John’s Co-Cathedral

Time: Visiting Hrs (after evening mass) 7:30pm - 12am (last tour at 11:30pm) | Location: St John’s Co-Cathedral, St John Street


St John’s Co-Cathedral will once again open its doors during Notte Bianca, inviting visitors to experience the splendour of this remarkable heritage Co-Cathedral by night. With guided tours every 20 minutes that depart from the main entrance, leading visitors through its chapels, grand altar, Oratory, and treasured artworks.



Missio

Time: 6pm - 11pm | Locations: Merchants Street (in front of the Faith, Hope & Charity shop), the area in front of St. James Church and the old YTC building.


Missio will open the doors of The Faith, Hope and Charity Shop as well as set-up three stands: A Food Stall serving ricotta cannoli, snacks, and drinks; a fun Game Stall with a beanbag toss; and an Information Stand sharing details about their work.



Open Doors, Open Hearts

Time: 7pm - 11pm | Location: YMCA Malta Head Office, 178 Merchant Street


YMCA Malta opens its head office doors during Notte Bianca, featuring a special Books 4 Charity sale, guided tours showcasing their 49-year mission, interactive displays about homelessness support services, and meet-and-greet opportunities with staff and volunteers. Visitors can purchase pre-loved books while learning about the YMCA Malta community impact and ongoing DAR Campaign.



Palazzo Ferreria

Time: 6pm - 11pm | Location: 310, Republic Street


The of Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights, will open the doors to Palazzo Ferreria for public viewing during Notte Bianca.



Il-Fondi Ewropej Fuq it-Tila

Time: 6pm - 11pm | Location: Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta, Republic Street


Il-Fondi Ewropej Fuq it-Tila is an exhibition in the foyer of the SEM offices featuring artworks with the theme of European funds. The exhibition will consist of artistic creations by MCAST students who have been given a theme related to the European Union cohesion funds programmes and are free to express it artistically according to their style. The programmes are the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Instrument.


In addition, MCAST students will be working on another project during Notte Bianca, so that visitors can see their work in progress at that time and the students can explain to them what they are doing.

SEM officials will also be present to explain our services to those visiting the exhibition and assist those interested in using European funds.


This activity is co-financed by the European Union as part of an information campaign on the European Union's Cohesion funds.



Lombard Bank

Time: 7pm - 12am | Location: St Frederick Street


Lombard Bank will open the doors to Palazzo Spinola's ground floor and first floor.

 

This historical palazzo, is one of the earliest constructions in Valletta, and still retains most of its original features and the restoration of part of Palazzo Spinola was awarded the Din l-Art Helwa Award for Architectural Heritage in 2010.



Legends of Malta - Legends of Russia

Time: 6pm - 10pm | Location: Russian Center for Science and Culture, Merchants Street


The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in the Republic of Malta is pleased to present a unique program that includes a lecure and masterclass by Russian artist Nina Silaeva, an exhibition by a Russian-Maltese photographer Irina Kuznetsova, and a stunning concert with soloists from Malta and Russia featuring Soprano Olga Agafonova, Tenor Michel Angelo Muscat, Baritone Ken Scicluna, Baritone Joseph Lia, pianist Natalya Rakhmatullina and pianist Sofia Narmania.



Connecting Generations

Time: 6pm - 12am | Location: Palazzo Castellania, Merchants Street


The Ministry’s Head Office at Palazzo Castellania will be open to the public, hosting interactive initiatives such as Positivity and Jenga games, a short play Il-Vuċi tal-Mera, and videos and presentations on body image and health services, alongside fun activities like Distorted Mirrors by Dar Kenn għall-Saħħtek.

The Mental Health Services team will promote wellbeing through Planting Positivity, Bracelets of Hope, and the Chat Lounge – ‘Start the Conversation’, a confidential safe space encouraging dialogue on personal mental wellbeing challenges.


The Health Promotion Directorate will engage families with Healthy Lifestyle and physical activity games, including a giant Snakes & Ladders, as well as opportunities to register for nutrition and weight management services, access brief consultations on smoking cessation, and enjoy a roaming interactive quiz.


The Active Ageing and Community Care programme will highlight intergenerational initiatives such as the Human Benchmark , alongside the promotion of independent living and an Interactive Pill Box Station. Cultural highlights include performances by the Mellieha Choir and line dancing, plus artisan showcases in wood engraving and the weaving of Coats of Arms.


Completing the programme, Mater Dei Hospital will present an ambulance demonstration in Merchant Street, while visitors can also explore the historic dungeons.



Valletta Primary Health Centre

Time: 6pm - 12am | Location: Old Theatre Street


At the Valletta Primary Health Centre, visitors can benefit from free health-related tests and assistance for minor emergencies.

A Biannual Art Exhibition organised by the MHA CSR Committee in aid of Dr. Klown, the Down Syndrome Association and Jacob’s Brew (Survivors Malta). 25% of the proceeds donated to the three NGOs.



Romanian Orthodox Community and Parish of Saint John the Baptist in Malta

Step inside the inspiring world of the Malta School of Art as they open their doors to the public. Visitors will be invited to explore the charm and character of their historic building, while experiencing a unique event inspired by the theme Atmosfera, a celebration of mood, space, and artistic expression.



Discover the Central Bank of Malta at Notte Bianca

Time: 6:30pm - 10:30pm | Location: Central Bank of Malta


Step into the historic Currency Museum at Castille Place and immerse yourself in the fascinating story of money. Explore a remarkable collection of coins and banknotes that trace the evolution of currency through the ages. A counterfeit expert will be on site to share valuable insights into the art of detecting fraudulent money, while the Malta Coin Centre will offer a selection of commemorative coins for sale. For one night only, the Upper and Lower Gardens will open exclusively to the public, transforming into a magical setting filled with attractions and live music.

 

In collaboration with the Customs Department, the Bank’s sponsored Labrador, Żekkin and also Gipsy, will demonstrate how sniffer dogs help detect money-related crimes. Visitors can watch live simulation exercises in the Upper Garden and learn more about this important work. The evening will also feature much more, and a few surprises for those curious enough to explore.


Through a dedicated stand on our premises ĠEMMA will be offering information on the different sessions it organises which can help you improve your financial capability. Books intended to help children better their financial literacy skills will be available from the stand. You can also have a chance to participate in the ĠEMMA online quiz.  Visitors will have the opportunity to witness Dr Carmelo Serracino painting live in aquarelle, while enjoying an intimate evening surrounded by his captivating works during the ‘Notte Acquarello’ exhibition.


A static show by the Malta Military Vehicle Collectors Club will also be on display in the parking area in front of the Main Building at Castille Place, offering a unique glimpse into historic military transport.

Parliament of Malta

The Parliament of Malta will open its doors for the public for a special viewing of the premises during Notte Bianca.



Talenti B’Għożża

Time 5pm - 10:30pm | Location: University of Malta, Valletta Campus


“Talenti B’Għożża” is an opportunity for residents to showcase their talents.The main aim of the Authority for the Standards of Care for the Elderly is to raise awareness that older persons have an important role in society, even if they are currently living in residential care homes. It highlights the importance of older persons continuing to pursue their hobbies and keeping themselves active.


As preparation for this event, the Authority provided elderly residents living in care homes with the necessary materials to create handmade works. The talented individuals who created these works will be present during the exhibition, giving visitors the chance to meet them and appreciate the care and skill that went into each piece.



Is-Sigurtà fost in-Nies

Time: 6pm onwards | Location: Strada Stretta and Melita Street


The Ministry for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, present a project that will include activities for children from LESA, the Civil Protection Department and the Police Forensic Science Laboratory Officers


The Armed Forces of Malta Aviation Section will also be present for this event.


You can also enjoy food and drinks from Il-Forn tal-Ħabs. 


During this event, you can renew your Identity card and apply for Jobsplus training schemes. You can also visit an exhibition featuring Disciplined Forces vehicles with the presence of the Police Cavalry.



Auberge de Castille


Time: 6:30pm | Location: Auberge de Castille, Castille Square


The Auberge de Castille will open its doors for the public for a special viewing of the premises during Notte Bianca.
