Programme Notes

Johann Sebastian Bach was one of the first composers that I encountered, already as a kid, and his music has been accompanying me ever since. However, it wasn't until the recent pandemic that I could find the opportunity to dive into a recording project which resembles this journey with Bach's solo music. "Plucked Bach" (vol. 1 & 2) features my own arrangements of parts of this "musical bible" - the cello suites, the violin sonatas and partitas - next to other selected works, originally for the organ or the lute.

I feel fortunate to be able to perform solo Bach recitals with my different instruments around Europe, and the more I do this, the stronger my feeling becomes that this journey has no end. More than a concert programme, it is a living process with myself as a musician and an instrumentalist, hand in hand with the divine music by Johann Sebastian Bach.
