Jum ir-Repubblika —It-Tlieta, 13 ta’ Diċembru, 2022


Jum ir-Repubblika jfakkar il-ġurnata fejn Malta rrevediet il-kostituzzjoni tagħha u effettivament saret Repubblika. B’hekk Malta ma’ baqatx taħt ir-renju tar-reġina Eliżabetta II, u minflok inħatar l-ewwel President ta’ Malta Repubblika, Sir Anthony Mamo. Fl-okkażżjoni tat-48 sena anniversarju ta’ Jum ir-Repubblika, Festivals Malta permezz tal-Kumitat Festi Nazzjonali, flimkien mal-Uffiċċju tal-President qed jorganizzaw diversi attivitajiet kommemorattivi sabiex jiġi mfakkar dan il-Jum.


It-Tlieta 13 ta’ Diċembru 2022, Jum ir-Repubblika, fl-10:00 ta’ filgħodu, ser tkun qed tiġi organizzata l-parata ċerimonjali mill-Forzi Armati ta’ Malta u ser jattendu l-ogħla awtoritajiet tal-pajjiż fosthom l-Eċċellenza Tiegħu Dr George Vella - President ta’ Malta, l-Onorevoli Robert Abela – Prim Ministru ta’ Malta, flimkien ma’ mistednin distinti oħra. Festivals Malta jappella lill-pubbliku biex jattendi għal din iċ-ċerimonja fi Pjazza San Ġorġ, il-Belt Valletta. Fil-11:00 ta’ filgħodu ssir ċerimonja tal-investitura u l-għoti tal-midalji fis-Sala tal-Gran Kunsill, fil-Palazz tal-Gran Mastru, il-Belt Valletta. Dawn l-avvenimenti kollha ser ikunu mxandra b’mod dirett fuq TVM News+.


Fis-1:00 ta’ waranofsinhar, il-President ta’ Malta jqiegħed kuruna tal-fjuri fuq il-monument ta’ Malta Repubblika fil-Marsa.


Attivitajiet oħra li jfakkru dan il-Jum ta’ Festa Nazzjonali huma kif ġej:


It-Tnejn 12 ta’ Diċembru - marċ mill-Banda tas-Soċjeta’ Mużikali ta’ Sant’ Antnin ta’ Birkirkara tul Triq ir-Repubblika, il-Belt Valletta, fis-6:00 ta’ filgħaxija.


It-Tlieta 13 ta’ Diċembru - marċ mill-Banda tas-Soċjeta’ Filarmonika King’s Own tal-Belt Valletta, tul Triq ir-Repubblika, il-Belt Valletta, li jibda fil-5:30 ta’ filgħaxija.


 

REPUBLIC DAY —Tuesday, 13th December, 2022



Republic Day commemorates the occasion Malta revised its constitution and effectively became a Republic. As a result, Malta was no longer under Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, and instead appointed the first President of the Republic of Malta, Sir Anthony Mamo. On the occasion of the 48th anniversary from Republic Day, Festivals Malta through the National Festivals Committee, together with the Office of the President will organise several activities in commemoration of this day.


On Tuesday 13 December on Republic Day, at 10:00 in the morning, a ceremonial parade will be organised by the Armed Forces of Malta, that will be attended by the country's highest authorities including His Excellency Dr George Vella - President of Malta and the Honorable Robert Abela - Prime Minister, among other distinguished guests. Festivals Malta invited the public to attend this ceremony in St George Square, Valletta. At 11:00 in the morning there will be an investiture ceremony and the awarding of medals in the Grand Council Hall, in the Grand Master's Palace, Valletta. All these events will be broadcast live on TVM News+.


At 1:00 in the afternoon, the President of Malta will place a memorial wreath on Republic Day monument in Marsa.


Other activities in commemoration of the Republic Day National Holiday are as follows:


Monday 12 December – a march by St. Anthony’s Band Club of Birkirkara along Republic Street, Valletta, at 6:00 in the evening.


Tuesday 13 December – a march by King’s Own Band Club of Valletta along Republic Street, Valletta, starting at 5:30 in the evening.
