The much-anticipated Maltese music festival, Mużika Mużika organised by Festivals Malta, will celebrate its sixth edition and will be held between 19 and 21 March 2026.
Preparations for the festival are now in their final phase, with intensive work underway by the production team, technicians as well as the artists themselves.
Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government Owen Bonnici, together with Festivals Malta, announced that tickets for this musical event are now on sale, and one should purchase their tickets from the website www.muzikamuzika.mt.

"Mużika Mużika is not just a competition, but a celebration of Maltese song, of the talent and dedication of many, many workers," stated Dr Bonnici. He recalled the 112 songs that have been released since Mużika Mużika was founded and said that this shows the importance of this festival because it is creating an important musical legacy, particularly where the Maltese language is concerned.

Festivals Malta Chairman, Aaron Zahra said that as in previous years, audiences both present at the venue and on television can expect a great show. "Work is currently underway to offer another year of the highest level and quality. We have a spectacular and unique stage, a live orchestra and local artists who will undoubtedly join forces in a three-day show full of surprises and entertainment for the whole family. Last year we had 320,000 viewers over the three evenings, and this year we are expecting even more," said Mr Zahra.

The Festivals Malta CEO Frans Agius announced that, "This year we will be re-adopting last year's format with 16 finalist songs that will compete both on Thursday evening and on Saturday's final evening. We are doing this again so that the songs that our artists are working so hard on can be enjoyed and given the credit they deserve. I thank everyone involved in the festival, including the technicians, the participants, the orchestra, the backing vocalists, the presenters both this year and previous ones, and above all the staff of Festivals Malta. Without this team of professionals, Mużika Mużika would definitely not be what it is."

Mużika Mużika Chairman, Raymond Bugeja explained that on Thursday 19th March voting will be open to the audience in the hall only together with the professional jury. Then, on the evening of Saturday 21st March there will be televoting in the normal way which will be open to both the audience in the venue and the television audience. Thursday's votes will be counted with those from the televoting and the professional jury of the final evening. He also announced the team of presenters: Keith Demicoli, Ira Losco, Jaqcui Losco and Jamie Cardona.

Mużika Mużika Artistic Director Paul Abela explained that the Serata tal-Klassiċi will take place on Friday 20th March. "Like every year, we will have several veteran singers who will perform classical songs that will surely evoke nostalgia in anyone who loves Maltese music. I wish all the singers, authors and composers every success, and I thank them for their professionalism."

Mużika Mużika will take place at the MFCC Ta' Qali and will also be broadcast live on television, between 19 and 21 March 2026 at 9pm. Tickets for the show are on sale.
