Festivals Malta

 

Festivals Malta is the national government body dedicated to the nurturing and growth of festivals and cultural events in Malta and Gozo.

 

The agency has a varied portfolio of festivals to foster creativity, professionalism, participation and cultural education in the sector. It is responsible for an annual calendar of more than 160 separate activities across 11 engaging and accessible festivals and 5 national events that serve as a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and reflect the variety of cultural life on the Maltese archipelago, preserving local traditions, cultivating an environment of creativity and artistic expression and promoting public awareness of the arts.  By acting as the focal point of collaboration and cross-promotion in the creative sector, Festivals Malta works to raise the profile of Maltese culture in the community and to promote Malta internationally as a festival destination.

 

Mużika Mużika

 

Mużika Mużika organised by Festivals Malta is a festival that celebrates music and the Maltese language. This festival offers a platform for local artists to showcase their talents through Maltese compositions interpreted with a live orchestra.

The festival has the intent of promoting compositions in Maltese, offering a unique platform that is reserved solely for compositions in the Maltese language. This is in line with the initial aim and spirit of the festival, that of promoting our Maltese composers and giving the chance to be part of the history of Maltese music.


Services Required


In order to produce Mużika Mużika, Festivals Malta requires the following Services:

 

1.    TV Production Services (Executive Producer)

2.    Technical Project Management Services

3.    Light Designer & Broadcast Director of Photography

4.    Broadcast Audio Designer & Sound Engineer Services

5.    Concept and Design Services for Mużika Mużika 2027


Application Process


All applications, including the relevant proof as required by each service called are to be sent by email to: fm.hr@festivals.mt by not later than 7th August 2026 by noon

 

Eligible applicants will be asked to sit for a selection interview which is planned to be held on the 27 August 2026

 

 

General Conditions for the calls


  1. The Services are required for the Productions of the 2027 and 2028 (where indicated) Productions of Mużika Mużika.  It is planned that Mużika Mużika 2027 will be held between the 11th and 13th of March 2027, whereas the dates for 2028 will be between the 23rd and 25th of March 2028


  2. Each service provider except for the Concept and Design Services Provider is expected to enter into a commitment for both the 2027 and 2028 Productions. 


  3. The Contracts shall be active for a two year period until Mużika Mużika 2028 is broadcast.


  4. Each Service provider must communicate with the other Service providers in order to prepare all the Bills of Quantities and Specifications for the show by the deadline set by the agency the year before the show (i.e. Specifications of the 2027 show are to be provided by September 2026, and Specifications for the 2028 show are to be provided by August 2027)


  5. The Technical Service Providers are expected to be available to provide their services solely to Festivals Malta as from 2 weeks before the broadcast of the show, until the Final show of the year is broadcast.  The providers will be on site for the whole duration of the rehearsals.


  6. The Service Providers will be provided with lunch and dinner during the 2 weeks of rehearsals and during the production days.


  7. Service Providers will be reimbursed for travelling costs for travelling done on behalf of Festivals Malta


  8. The selected Service providers MUST have a high level of confidentiality. Being a competition-based production, no disclosure of information to any third party is permitted. Any conflict of interest that the selected person might have should be reported immediately to the CEO and any necessary action shall be taken accordingly.


  9. The General Conditions for Service Contracts issued by the Department of Contracts will be applicable to the awarded Contracts.
