The Malta International Arts Festival (MIAF) is looking for 6 dancers (male and female) to participate in a three-week intensive dance residency (choreographic lab) with one international choreographer and one local choreographer. This residency will culminate into three short choreographic works based on music by three Maltese composers. The performance is entitled M.A.D. (Music and Dance) and will be presented to a live music recital on the main stage of the MIAF in Valletta on the 4th of July 2019.
Dancers will be selected through an audition process. The selected applicants will have the opportunity to receive an exceptional experience, widen their abilities and vision by working with international guest choreographer Gil Kerer (Israel) and local dance artist Zoe Camilleri (Malta).
Applicants must have a strong contemporary dance technique and knowledge of classical technique, good feeling for lines and detail, flexibility, improvisational skills and open-mindedness for collaboration with choreographers, strong stage personality, creativity as well as being able to contribute to the creative process.
