Festivals Malta jħabbar li l-kanzunetta SABIĦA rebħet it-tielet edizzjoni ta’ Mużika Mużika.

It-tielet edizzjoni ta’ Mużika Mużika ntemmet b’suċċess wara tlett iljieli spettakolari ta’ mużika Maltija. Din is-sena il-festival Mużika Mużika kellu total ta’ madwar 300,000 telespettatur fuq medda ta’ tlett serati, u madwar 6,500 ruħ li kienu preżenti fis-sala. Fis-serata tal-finali tal-bieraħ is-Sibt 25 ta’ Marzu tħabbar li l-kanzunetta SABIĦA interpretata minn Gianluca Bezzina fuq mużika ta’ Philip Vella u lirika ta’ Joe Julian Farrugia rebħet it-tielet edizzjoni ta’ Mużika Mużika.

Il-kanzunetta JEKK MHUX INT interpretata minn Drakard u Lisa Gauci, b’lirika ta’ Emil Calleja Bayliss u b’kompożizzjoni ta’ Cyprian Cassar klassifikat fit-tieni post, u l-kanzunetta M’HAWNX BĦALEK, interpretata minn Jasmine Abela, b’lirika ta’ Philip Vella u mużika ta’ Glen Vella klassifikat it-tielet post. Waqt il-festival ġew rikonoxxuti wkoll il-Maestro Ryan Paul Abela għall-Aqwa Arranġament Mużikali u l-kantanta Jasmine Abela għall-Aqwa Interpretazzjoni.

Il-Ministru għall-Wirt Nazzjonali, l-Arti u l-Gverni Lokali, Owen Bonnici qal li l-festival Mużika Mużika jiċċelebra s-sbuħija tal-lingwa Maltija. Il-Ministru Bonnici esprima l-gratitudni tiegħu lil kull min kien involut biex jagħmel dan l-avveniment esperjenza indimentikabbli u faħħar partikolarment lil min kiseb suċċess f'din l-edizzjoni.

"Aħna determinati li nkomplu nibnu fuq dawn il-kisbiet biex nagħtu lill-familji Maltin u Għawdxin legat straordinarju waqt li nsaħħu l-opportunitajiet lill-artisti u kompożituri tagħna," temm jgħid Dr Bonnici.

Iċ-Chairman ta’ Festivals Malta Aaron Zahra qal li huwa sodifatt immens bis-suċċess kbir li l-festival irnexxilu jikseb. “Għal darb’oħra, Festivals Malta reġa’ ssupera kull aspettativa. Rajna produzzjoni tal-ogħla livell, li ma setgħetx tkun possibbli mingħajr il-ħaddiema ħabrieka ta’ Festivals Malta, it-tim tat-tekniċi, l-kollaboraturi, u l-artisti li ħadmu qatigħ għal diversi xhur biex dan il-festival jkun ta’ suċċess. Kommessi li bħala l-aġenzija nazzjonali tal-festivals nibqgħu ngħollu l-livell tal-festivals u l-avvenimenti tagħna biex ta’ kull sena nilħqu miri ġodda. Issa jmiss li tissokta l-ħidma għall-festivals tas-sajf li ġej fejn ser ikollna kalendarju imżewwaq li żgur ser jolqot il-gosti ta’ kulħadd.”

“Permezz ta’ Mużika Mużika, Festivals Malta qiegħed jinvesti fil-patrimonju Malti billi ta’ kull sena jżewwaq ir-repertorju tal-mużika Maltija b’kontribut ta’ 20 kanzunetta ġdid. Dan jgħamilni tassew kburija għax Festivals Malta qed ikun ambaxxatur tal-lingwa tant sabiħa tagħna. Nixtieq nirringrazzja lil kull min b’xi mod jew ieħor ikkontribwixxa f’dan il-festival”, temmet tgħid il-Kap Eżekuttiv ta’ Festivals Malta Annabelle Stivala.

Iċ-Chairman ta’ Mużika Mużika Raymond Bugeja qal li, “Bħal kull sena, il-livell tal-kanzunetti kien wieħed fenominali. L-impenn u l-professjonalità tal-artisti, l-kompożituri, u l-awturi deher biċ-ċar tul dawn it-tlett ijiem tal-festival. It-talent Malti huwa verament b’saħħtu, u għandna tassew biex inkunu kburin.”

“Tul dawn it-tlett ijiem rajna spettaklu mill-isbaħ. L-istandard qed ikompli jiżdied ta’ kull sena u ma nistax inkun aktar kburi bil-kantanti, il-kompiżituri, u l-awturi ta’ din is-sena u bit-talent kbir tagħhom. Nawgura lill-artisti kollha speċjalment lir-rebbieħ. Ma fadal xejn ħlief li nistenna bil-ħerqa għall-edizzjoni li jmiss, li żgur se tkun waħda fenomenali,” ikkonkluda id-Direttur Artistiku, Paul Abela.

Festivals Malta, flimkien mal-bord ta’ Mużika Mużika u l-Ministeru għall-Wirt Nazzjonali, l-Arti u l-Gvern Lokali, jirringrazzjaw lil dawk kollha li b’xi mod jew ieħor kienu nvoluti f’din il-produzzjoni u jesprimu l-gratitudni tagħhom lejn il-pubbliku Malti li jissapportja dan il-festival. Festivals Malta announced that SABIĦA is the winning song of the third edition of Mużika Mużika.

The third edition of Mużika Mużika ended successfully after three spectacular nights of Maltese music. This year the festival had a total of around 300,000 viewers across the three shows, and around 6,500 attendees. During the final, on Saturday 25 March, it was announced that the song SABIĦA performed by Gianluca Bezzina, composed by Philip Vella, and written by Joe Julian Farrugia won the third edition of Muzika Muzika.

The song JEKK MHUX INT performed by Drakard and Lisa Gauci, written by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Cyprian Cassar ranked second, and the song M’HAWNX BĦALEK, performed by Jasmine Abela, written by Philip Vella, and composed by Glen Vella ranked third. During the festival, Maestro Ryan Paul Abela was also recognized for Best Musical Arrangement and Jasmin Abela won the Best Interpretation award.

The Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici said that the Mużika Mużika festival celebrates the beauty of the Maltese language.

Minister Bonnici expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in making this event an unforgettable experience and especially to those who achieved success in this edition.

"We are determined to continue building on these achievements to provide extraordinary experiences for Maltese and Gozitan families while also providing opportunities for our artists and composers," said Dr Bonnici.

Festivals Malta Chairman Aaron Zahra said that he is extremely satisfied with the great success of the festival. "Festivals Malta has once again exceeded all expectations. We saw a production of the highest level, which could not have been possible without the hard workers of Festivals Malta, the team of technicians, collaborators, and artists who worked hard for several months to make this festival a success. As the national agency for festivals, we are committed to continue raising the level of our festivals and events to reach new goals every year. Now it's time to continue working on the upcoming summer festivals; we have an exciting calendar of events that will surely appeal to everyone's tastes."

"Through Mużika Mużika, Festivals Malta is investing in our heritage by enriching the repertoire of Maltese music with a contribution of 20 new songs every year. This makes me proud because Festivals Malta is being an ambassador for our beautiful language. I would like to thank everyone whom in one way or another contributed to this festival", concluded Festivals Malta CEO Annabelle Stivala. Mużika Mużika Chairman Raymond Bugeja said, “the level of the songs was phenomenal this year. The commitment and professionalism of the artists, composers, and authors was evident throughout the festival. The Maltese talent is truly astounding, and we really have something to be proud of."

“We had a spectacular show during the past three days. The standard keeps rising every year and I could not be prouder of this year's talented singers, composers, and authors. I wish to congratulate all the artists, especially this year's winner. I will anxiously await the next edition, which will surely be a phenomenal one," concluded the Artistic Director, Paul Abela.

Festivals Malta, together with Mużika Mużika Board and the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, thank all those who in one way or another were involved in this production and express their gratitude to the Maltese public who support this festival with enthusiasm.
