Malta International Arts Festival (MIAF) invites Dance School groups to apply to participate in the second edition of Young Creatives in Motion. MIAF is passionate about bringing young dancers together to create a truly aspirational programme of live performance, encouraging young dancers from a range of dance genre to present their work in a professional environment. The event aims to discover emerging talent and skills in young dancers and choreographers across the island, whilst increasing access, raise standards and improve progression in dance on a national scale and support the teachers and leaders who deliver dance both in and out of school settings. This national platform essentially encourages the next generation of dance artists and leaders.
The applicant group who are selected will be given the music, for which they will need to create a work. The choreography will be presented as part of the MIAF 2024 programme which will be held on the 19th of June 2024. The selected applicants will perform to live music by György Ligeti, George Gershwin, Phillip Glass, Manuel de Falla, Jean Phillippe Rameau and Claude Pascal.
